DAR LAYAN - The Ultimate Journey (مساجد تشد اليها الرحال)

The project "The Ultimate Journey" was inspired by the recognition of Makkah as the Capital of Islamic Culture in 1426 AH (2005) by ICESCO. It emphasizes how visual arts can convey shared values across cultures.

The project’s name is derived from a Prophetic Hadith about three significant mosques. Thirty-four artists from eighteen countries were brought together, allowing them creative freedom to depict the importance of the Grand Mosque in Makkah, the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah, and Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.

The result is a diverse collection of artworks that reflect varied styles and cultural viewpoints while sharing a common message of Islamic spirituality. These artworks highlight the mosques as inclusive spaces that promote closeness and invite reflection on universal values that connect humanity.
