XENA KALOUTI - The Microcosmic Console

Enrobed in multi-layered, shifting circles, this console invites the viewer on a journey of introspection and curiosity, not only through its evocative form, but through the mystery of its making. Crafted from solid walnut wood, each surface is meticulously covered in hand-adhered natural wood veneers, including red rosewood, black wood, wood mosaic marquetry, and mother-of-pearl, some edged in a bronze-like shine. These layers wrap and rise in asymmetrical rhythms, encircling a central mirror like a portal to inner worlds.
