Afghanistan

The organisation’s long‑term engagement has rebuilt workshops, strengthened technical skills and supported makers in developing work for international clients. Palestine
In Palestine, Turquoise Mountain works with artisans specialising in embroidery, ceramics, woodwork and other heritage crafts. These practices carry cultural meaning and continue to evolve through contemporary design. The organisation supports makers through training, community programmes and international collaborations.
Myanmar
Myanmar’s craft sector holds strong potential for social and economic development. Turquoise Mountain has trained hundreds of artisans in jewellery, textiles, lacquerware and goldsmithing. It has restored landmark buildings in Yangon, including the Merchant Street complex and the Tourist Burma building. More than 750 builders and engineers have been trained in conservation and restoration. Myanmar artisans now produce work for luxury hotels, international buyers and contemporary designers.
